State Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Economy is responsible for national tourism marketing and marketing activities implementation, the main three fields of marketing activities are as follows: increase the awareness of Lithuania in foreign markets, introduce its tourism products and build a positive brand image; increase inbound tourism flows; encourage domestic travel and reduce the influence of seasonability.

State Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Economy, following the competency as assigned by Lithuanian laws, deals with the consumer complaints for travel packages which can be submited both to the Department or the State Consumer Rights Protection Authority.

State Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Economy carries out tourism projects, financed from EU structural funds. On regular basis international and national tourism tendencies are analysed and Lithuanian tourism statistics is provided by request.

Lithuania invites to discover The Baltic States at an exclusive luncheon in Chicago

Media, travel agents and travel executives will have a chance to discover Lithuania and other Baltic states on Thursday, Oct. 23 at 12:30 p.m. at Waldorf Astoria hotel’s RIA room, Chicago (USA).

Attendees will learn about the numerous travel options that are available to U.S. travelers to the three Baltic States. Comprised of Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia, the Baltic States have gorgeous nature scenes, UNESCO approved historical heritage sites and untouched beaches.

Lithuania has got 1 000 000 likes in social networks

One year ago the State Department of Tourism (further referred to as the SDT) started implementing the campaign Like'able Lithuania, which invites tourists to Lithuania and presents things, which make our country like'able using social networks. From September of 2013 to September of 2014 the number of fans has reached 1 005 807 – this is the number of interactions the fans of the campaign made in the social networks.
