Lithuania invites to discover The Baltic States at an exclusive luncheon in Chicago

2014-10-17

Media, travel agents and travel executives will have a chance to discover Lithuania and other Baltic states on Thursday, Oct. 23 at 12:30 p.m. at Waldorf Astoria hotel’s RIA room, Chicago (USA).

Attendees will learn about the numerous travel options that are available to U.S. travelers to the three Baltic States. Comprised of Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia, the Baltic States have gorgeous nature scenes, UNESCO approved historical heritage sites and untouched beaches.

Lithuania is a modern country, which renewed its independence from the Soviet Union 24-years ago and since than is developing and nourishing its resources. The country offers new & modern accommodation facilities, fresh & healthy food for the choice of the pickiest clients, and last but not the least – striking historical heritage. Lithuania is also home to five national parks and beautiful beaches on The Baltic Sea. The country is ranked 17th on the “Ease of Doing Business Index,” higher than Canada, Germany and Japan.

Lithuania is the start of the world-famous The Amber Road, an ancient trade route for the transfer of amber from coastal areas of the North Sea and the Baltic Sea to the Mediterranean Sea. As an important raw material, dubbed "the gold of the north," amber was transported from the North Sea and Baltic Sea coasts overland by way of the Vistula and Dnieper rivers to Italy, Greece, the Black Sea, Syria and Egypt thousands of years ago, and long after.

The State Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Economy of Lithuania is inviting local travel agents & media representatives to a presentation combining the introduction of the country’s travel resources and the unbelievably rich & unseen exposition of different amber products.
